The Commonwealth Government’s Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) has chosen DSpark to provide granular and dynamic mobility data to enhance the measurements of ongoing  tourism activities for the Australian tourism industry. A significant win,  as it endorses DSpark's data as a key dataset for the Australian tourism industry, including state and regional tourism offices, tourism operators and event organisers.

This selection has resulted from DSpark working closely with Austrade and in partnership with Tourism Research Australia (TRA) and the Tourism Research Council over the years to demonstrate the use and value of DSpark's data and insights through several commissioned studies and engagements. In particular, the analysis of the 2018 Australian Commonwealth Games, the Bushfire impact on tourism from November 2019 to March 2020, and more recently tracking the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns on tourism.

The ongoing collaboration between DSpark and Austrade ensures DSpark's data and future product roadmap aligns with the official TRA tourism definitions and tourism industry requirements. In addition, TRA uses DSpark's data to complement the International Visitor Survey (IVS) and National Visitor Survey (NVS), while enabling TRA to increase the frequency of reports for the tourism industry.
